Glentromie Lodge, Self Catered Accommodation, Strathspey
Glentromie Lodge is a traditional Scottish Highland Lodge. Originally owned by the MacPherson-Grant family, it is now owned by the Craigie Halkett family and is a much loved family home. For those who know and enjoyed the 2012 Bond Film ‘Skyfall’ it is easy to see why Glentromie was short-listed for the part of the stars childhood home and why to date, it has been a favourite amongst holiday makers and sporting parties wishing to experience a traditional Scottish Highland escape.
The Lodge is situated in a secluded part of the glen along a 2 mile private driveway which winds between heather moors along the path of the River Tromie. Glentromie itself was built in Victorian times as a hunting lodge and commands outstanding views over the river and down the glen. Deer and other wildlife frequent the garden and there are numerous walks from the door. It is a truly peaceful and romantic retreat for private holidays or family fun.
The main house sleeps 15 in 10 bedrooms with traditional furnishings, open fires and fabulously deep roll top baths in every bathroom. A limited number of dogs are welcome by arrangement and there are kennels outside. Indoors dogs are restricted to the kitchen and laundry rooms only and the lodge is strictly no smoking. A cook is available by arrangement.
'"First of all I would like to say thank you once again for letting us stay at Glentromie. It was probably one of the best places we have ever stayed at and everyone loved it. Even my family members from New Zealand loved it that much that they are thinking about possibly booking the lodge again this summer with some of their own family."
